Sandwich Tern migrate north in Autumn.
The Sandwich Tern has dark legs and displays a white rump and tail in flight.
Sandwich Tern with its yellow tipped beak and non-breeding plumage.
The Sandwich Tern is known by the yellow tip to its black beak. When arriving early in Spring it may still show off it’s black cap from the breeding season. Different tern and gull species assemble on the rocks below the Yzerfontein Municipality building.
