Egyptian Goose portrait. From the characteristics of the beak it is clear that this ‘goose’ is in fact a duck. It is an invasive species that spread down Africa from Egypt and is now the biggest duck in the Southern African region.
The Egyptian Goose chick lacks the eye-patch seen on the adult.
Egyptian Goose is a common sight at small and large freshwater dams.
