Syzygy – the blood moon or lunar eclipse. This morning’s lunar eclipse was remarkable for being linked to the “supermoon” – when the moon is closest to the earth and appears larger. The last time this correlation occured was in 1982. The next one will be in 2033. I captured this shot by using a high ISO, wide open aperture, tripod and 10 sec delayed shutter release to allow the camera to be as still as possible. The slightest movement in the camera contaminates the sharpness of the details on the moon’s surface.
